Help Me Take My Message To The Nation

At the suggestion of friends and colleagues, I have submitted an audition to Oprah's new network OWN. They are looking for a new host for a talk show. Part of the contest involves on-line voting. If you like the content on this blog, I could use the support. Please go to this link and vote for me. You can vote as often as you like.

Here is a description of what I would do if I had the chance to host my own show:

What we do, what we think and what we feel impacts our lives more than anything else. Living well, being healthy, being whole comes down to knowing how steer our own ships. As a psychologist I know that understanding your inner world is as important as understanding the world around you. It's time to share the science of the inner world. I'm a man on a mission... I want to help our nation become healthier, more intuned and better able to navigate the rough seas of life....

Get it right this year!!!

Same old promises? Same resolutions?  Check this out:

Will I Reach My Goals in 2010?

New Years Resolutions; frankly, for many  people they are a waste of time. Why? Because so many of us resolve to be different, do things differently, think, feel, and live differently and so many of us wind up making short lived changes that rarely pan out. The result? Resolutions that repeat themselves each year. Think about what a waste that is. You resolve to be different or live differently and you spend a year not achieving the goal. You end up at December 31st ready to "try again."

The Nation's Health Care Reform: It's Time To Focus On Incentives

The nation’s health care crisis -  Why is it happening? What can be done?  These are questions that have plagued us literally for decades.  As we try to fumble through the answers from better coverage, better technology, more access, more facilities, etc., we have lost sight of the single most important determinant of good health:  human behavior.  It sounds simple enough—in fact, it sounds so simple that it is often looked to as the last resort for improving health, not the first.   Prevention, wellness, personal responsibility and consumerism of health care are all terms have all been thrown out there.
