Did you know that about one in four adults suffers from a mental illness in any given year? In fact in any given year, 9.5 percent of the population, or about 18.8 million American adults, suffer from a depressive illness. Major depression is as debilitating as having diabetes, heart disease or congestive heart failure. And sadly, most people with a depressive illness do not seek treatment.
